Terms of Service for DreamPilot

Welcome to DreamPilot. By using our mobile application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using DreamPilot, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

DreamPilot is a lucid dreaming and dream journaling application that provides:

• Dream journal functionality to record and store your dreams
• AI-powered dream analysis (optional premium feature)
• Educational content about lucid dreaming techniques
• Reality check reminders and progress tracking
• Achievement system and user progression features

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use DreamPilot. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free and Premium Tiers

DreamPilot offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

• Free Tier: Limited to 10 dream entries per month
• Premium Tier: Unlimited dreams, advanced AI analysis, and additional features

4.2 Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payments are processed by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple Account settings. No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Dream Journal

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create in DreamPilot, including dream journal entries. We do not claim ownership of your personal content.

5.2 Content Restrictions

You agree not to post content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains viruses or malicious code
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations

5.3 AI Dream Analysis

When you use the AI dream analysis feature, your dream content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for processing. This data is used solely to provide insights and is not stored permanently by the AI provider.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use DreamPilot only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Share or distribute your account access with others

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, text, graphics, and software, is owned by DreamPilot and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express permission.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 Medical Disclaimer

DreamPilot is not a medical device or health service. The App is for informational and entertainment purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for sleep-related issues or mental health concerns.

8.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

• You will achieve lucid dreaming or any specific results
• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• AI dream analysis will be accurate or complete
• Your data will never be lost (though we implement security measures)

8.3 Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services (Firebase, RevenueCat, OpenAI). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of these services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• DreamPilot is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the past 12 months

10. Termination

10.1 Your Right to Terminate

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. This will permanently delete all your data.

10.2 Our Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any reason at our discretion.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
